Matthew Silvia, Assoc. AIA
Matthew Silvia has spent over 15 years with BKP, evolving into a project leader. Highly organized, attentive to details, and able to meet the tightest deadlines, Matthew maintains an integral role in the firm. As a project manager, he works closely with consultants, owner’s representatives, and clients to ensure design concepts are executed correctly and that budgets and schedules are met.
His strengths lie in understanding, interpreting, and implementing code analysis and in working with contractors to facilitate construction administration. Coworkers, clients, and consultants alike know him as a reliable and dedicated resource for all phases of design development, service, and documentation.
Matthew holds an Associate of Architecture degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He is an Associate member of the American Institute of Architects.
Matthew has raced motocross bikes for 30 years and is a nationally ranked professional BMX racer and certified USA Cycling coach. He divides his time between Philadelphia, Connecticut, and North Carolina, where he founded the nonprofit Gastonia BMX, which helps the local community and kids stay active through racing, cycling competitions, and events. Matthew personally revitalized Gastonia’s track from a formerly abandoned site, performing most of the design/build renovation work himself. In Connecticut, he volunteers his time and professional expertise to Everyone Plays, a nonprofit, multi-sport indoor recreation center with a cycling program.
