President’s House
Designed for cigar manufacturer Otto Eisenlohr by Philadelphia architect Horace Trumbauer, the University of Pennsylvania President’s House is a French classical mansion built in 1912 with an addition in the 1980s. BKP renovated the interior of the residence for the incoming university president. Filled with antiques and fine art, the house serves not only as a private residence, but also for university entertaining and social events. Care was taken to preserve the historic integrity of the house while incorporating modern amenities and a new kitchen. BKP was the project architect in collaboration with Dian Boone Interior Design.
