Pelbano Recreation Center

BKP’s design for the Pelbano Recreation Center complex includes two buildings – a senior activity center and a separate, traditional recreation center – arranged on a shared site. The design establishes common open space for use by all members of the community. The senior activity center is organized around a skylit, triangular lobby and features a large multi-purpose cafeteria/performance space, physical fitness/activity room, arts and crafts room (with kiln), computer lab, and billiards room. A new National Federation of High Schools-regulation gymnasium anchors the recreation center, which also includes a weight-training room, office, and support spaces.
