Project Details

Part of ongoing renovations BKP has designed for the School of Dental Medicine, the Orthodontics Clinic will be renovated within the same footprint with an improved layout and functionality. Previously, the clinic shared space with the Endodontics Clinic, which moved into the new Advanced Education Specialty Clinics space, also redesigned by BKP. The Orthodontics Clinic will relocate to an adjacent swing space and remain operational during construction.

BKP designed the Orthodontics Clinic to include 20 operatories, two consultation rooms, X-ray room, and residents’ room. The reconfiguration allowed for an enlarged dispensary and additional storage. A check-in reception area includes office space for two individuals along with a faculty touchdown desk. The design aesthetic carries through from other School of Dental Medicine projects, including the use of wood ceiling to reinforce circulation pathways, patterned tile flooring, bright new lighting, Quartz countertops, and new modular casework. The project required BKP to surgically insert water, power, teledata, and other utilities through both renovated and unrenovated portions of the building to reach the new clinic. The renovation will modernize the clinic with an improved design and the latest dental teaching and care standards.

Construction is anticipated to begin in 2024 with completion in fall 2025.
